‘Melbourne, you’re the love of my life,’ Taylor Swift told her fans in Australia, and they went crazy.
The pop star said that at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday night, during her third sold-out show on her Eras Tour.
Swift, 34, told the crowd, “Here’s some stadium girl maths for you…” There were 96,000 people the first night and 96,000 people the second night. Tonight, 96,000 people.
“You did that three times, and that’s all the biggest shows I’ve ever played on a tour,” she said.
“Doing the maths, Melbourne, that’s 288,000 people in three nights.” I love you very much.
Melbourne showed Swift love by applauding for one minute.
“That was unforgettable for me, I’ll never forget it,” Swift said with tears in her eyes.
Swift has shown her love for Melbourne before on this tour.
Swift gave her fans in Melbourne a special surprise song by combining her songs “August,” “Getaway Car,” and “The Other Side of the Door.” Fans from around the world took to social media to vent their anger.
One fan on Twitter asked, “WHAT GAVE HER THE POWER TO DO THIS?”
Someone else said, “Does Taylor owe Australia money or something? What the hell is this?”
“The rest of the world watching Melbourne getting getaway car x August x the other side of the door mashup,” the person who shared the meme said. The meme showed an NFL player with a stone-faced look on his face during a tickertape parade.
At Taylor’s first performance at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, she also did something that had never been done before: she told the crowd that the special edition of The Tortured Poets Department would have a new song called “The Bolter.”
Some people are angry because a kind-hearted person who had to leave Swift’s Eras Tour performance early helped a diehard fan get a ticket to the show.
On a video shared on TikTok, one of the thousands of fans waiting outside the MCG without tickets got into the show thanks to Swiftie’s kindness.
Fans are shocked as they see the concertgoer give the ticket to another fan. The two then hug, and the woman runs into the venue.
The comments say that the conversation took place near the end of the three-hour event, during the last Midnights Era.
