Jennifer Lopez has been an iconic actress with a plethora of movies to her name. Starring in movies like The Mother, Maid in Manhattan, and, Hustlers, Lopez solidified herself as an actress as well as an iconic singer.

Talking about her 2019 movie, Jennifer Lopez starred in Hustlers which was based on the theme of exotic dancers and the money behind it. Jennifer Lopez Was Thankful For A Female Director

Back in 2019, the actress starred in Hustlers which was directed by Lorene Scafaria. The film dealt with sensitive topics of strippers and their jobs along with the money that came with it and Jennifer Lopez starred in the lead role for one reason only.

In an interview with Variety’s Actors on Actors, Lopez revealed that she was much more comfortable with a female director for the movie than she would have been if it was a male director. Sitting alongside Robert Pattinson, The Batman actor asked what’s the difference between the two and Lopez had quite an answer to reply!

“I think it would be so different if it was directed by a man. First of all, I think what men think of strippers they think of it in a different way than women do. I think what Hustlers exposed was that men have a very secret life that they think women don’t know about and they have a way that they think and look at women that is very sexual all the time.”

She further continued,

“And I think if it was in the hands of a man, it would have been more careful for the men and a little bit less careful for the women and we wouldn’t have got, being that these were female protagonists, it had to be the opposite.”

Although the actress may be right with her approach, there is a notable incident that made Lopez have a fallout with Louis Vitton. With allegations of taking everything from her photoshoot, Louis Vitton could not tolerate Jennifer Lopez!

During a Paris photoshoot, Lopez wore Louis Vitton collections and the studio had a very impressive campaign. It wasn’t until after the photo shoot that Jennifer Lopez decided to take almost everything from the studio which led to a fallout with the actress as revealed by The Sun (via The Things).

There is an unwritten understanding that whenever someone does one of our shoots they can help themselves to a few things. These are pieces they have worn and really taken a shine to. But Jennifer totally went to town and pretty much emptied the studio.

These actions led to the termination of the contract between Lopez and Louis Vitton and she was removed from being the brand ambassador of the company. As for the 2019 movie, Hustlers received a rating of 6.3/10 on IMDB and a whopping 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. The film is available to rent on Apple TV+ in the U.S.
