A photo of Angel Reese ’s reaction to Caitlin Clark making a big-time three-point shot in Monday’s Elite 8 showdown has quickly gone viral.

ESPN cameras caught Angel Reese’s priceless reaction after Caitlin Clark made a three-pointer in the third quarter of the LSU-Iowa contest. The Hawkeyes went on to win 94-87 to secure a Final Four appearance:

One of the key storylines going into this game was Iowa’s aim for revenge after losing to LSU by 17 points in the national championship game last year. But one year after Caitlin Clark’s Hawkeyes suffered a heartbreaking defeat, they got a nice piece of vengeance by getting the defending champions.

Clark finished with a game-high 41 points to go along with seven rebounds, 12 assists and a pair of steals. She shot 13-of-29 from the field and made 9-of-20 three-pointers in the Hawkeyes’ seven-point victory, per ESPN .

While Caitlin Clark has already announced that she’s declaring for the 2024 WNBA Draft, Angel Reese has yet to reveal a decision on her basketball future. Clark is a virtual lock to go first overall in the upcoming 2024 WNBA Draft, with the Indiana Fever holding the top selection.

South Carolina and North Carolina State are the other teams that have clinched a spot in the Final Four. The victor of UConn and USC will join those two and Iowa in the semis.

The 22-year-old Caitlin Clark is the all-time leader in NCAA Division 1 scoring, having surpassed Pete Maravich last month. Heading into the March Madness tournament, Clark had nothing else to prove nor accomplish as an individual.

The only thing missing on her otherwise near-flawless resume is a national championship before she turns pro. With a victory over the Tigers, the Hawkeyes’ hopes of sending Clark out on a high note remain intact.
