Patrick Mahomes has been making news even in the off-season with occasional appearances in the NBA Playoffs. The Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, was seen cheering for his native side, the Dallas Mavericks, during game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Timberwolves. By his side was his wife, Brittany, and his teammate, Travis Kelce.

While Mahomes got a rousing ovation from the crowd, Kelce got booed, much to his surprise. The Chiefs TE recently opened up about that experience on the “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason Kelce and said, “I got booed twice. It’s whatever. I get it. I’m not from Dallas. I’m just kind of like an innocent bystander.” (After 1:03:43)

When his brother asked why all the boos went his way, Travis said, “I don’t know, maybe they just don’t like the Chiefs.” Though the reception was volatile for him, the Superbowl winner backed the Mavs. He revealed how great the game was thanks to Kyrie Irving going off and Anthony Edwards going full Michael Jordan with t he massive dunk. He looked back on the game’s overall enjoyment and put it over compared to the game he saw the previous night of the Dallas Stars of the NHL. But to Travis, nothing feels like home regarding supporting his favorite NBA team.

Which NBA Team Does Travis Kelce Support?

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Travis Kelce is an ardent supporter of his hometown franchise, the Cleveland Cavaliers. The franchise honored him and his recently retired brother last month during a game between the Cavs and the Celtics.

The Cavs organized a giveaway featuring the brothers’ bobbleheads. Travis donned his No. 87 jersey, while Jason was in his Eagles’ 62, in tiny copies of themselves.

Travis Kelce might be one of the best in his position, but basketball was a passion for him growing up. The Cleveland native wears the Kansas City jersey, but his heart is set on representing his hometown NFL team, the Cleveland Browns. While the Mavs fans were far from elated to see Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, the Cavaliers will always welcome their hometown hero with a warm reception deserving of a national treasure.
