Tom Brady might be the most decorated player in NFL history, but his most important title is “Dad” to his kids.
The NFL quarterback, who famously unretired from football in March 2022, and then announced his retirement again in February 2023, is the father of three children. He shares son John “Jack” Edward Thomas with his ex-girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan, and two children with his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen — Benjamin Rein and Vivian Lake.
Brady and Bündchen divorced on Oct. 28, 2022, after 13 years of marriage. The exes agreed to joint custody of Benjamin and Vivian. According to a source, Bündchen will remain in Miami, while Brady will live in Tampa.
Shortly after the divorce news broke, Brady posted a statement on Instagram. “We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way,” he wrote.

Over the years, Brady, Bündchen and Moynahan have been open about parenthood, co-parenting and life with a blended family. Even Brady has had to adjust his work-life balance to do his best for both his team and his family.
“Time is so valuable and it’s so easy to forget how quickly it can pass us by,” Brady told PEOPLE in 2019. “I love my family so much and I love what I do for a living so much [that] I never, ever want to take those things for granted, and I really try to treasure every second.”
Here’s everything there is to know about Tom Brady’s three children.
Jack, 16
From 2004 to 2006, Brady was in a relationship with Moynahan. Shortly after their split in 2006, the Blue Bloods star revealed that she had gotten pregnant before they broke up. The co-parents welcomed their son, John “Jack” Edward Thomas Moynahan, on Aug. 22, 2007, in Santa Monica, California.
While Brady was nervous about the “challenge” of fatherhood prior to Jack’s birth, he’s embraced the role wholeheartedly over the years. Brady lived in Massachusetts when he played for the New England Patriots but moved to Florida after joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also maintains a presence in New York City for Jack, who primarily lives with Moynahan and her husband, Andrew Frankel.
Both Bündchen and Moynahan have publicly discussed co-parenting and their blended families. In 2018, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel told PEOPLE that she had already begun dating Brady when Moynahan realized she was pregnant, which “wasn’t the ideal situation” for them. “But I’m so grateful for [Bridget],” she added. “I know this was hard, but I couldn’t imagine my life without [Jack]. I call him my bonus child.”
The famous quarterback and his eldest have plenty in common, especially when it comes to football. When Brady was playing for Tampa Bay, Jack was the Buccaneers’ ball boy, a job he took “very seriously.”
In October 2022, Brady spoke about what it’s like to watch Jack play quarterback on his high school football team.
“I love watching him play quarterback because I think there’s very few things in life that I could probably help him with,” the former athlete said on his podcast. “You know, I don’t have a lot of specialties in life other than probably throwing the football.”
Brady added: “He’s way smarter. He’s got a great work ethic. He’s just a great kid. But I can definitely help him at quarterback.”

In August 2023, Brady marked his son’s 16th birthday with an Instagram post. He shared photos of himself and Jack, as well as a snap of the teen with his younger siblings.
“16 years of joy with the best son, brother, friend and teammate any parent could ever hope for,” the proud dad wrote in the caption. “You changed our lives the day you were born and every day since has been such a blessing for everyone who knows you. Now it’s time for the next step… the learners permit .”
Benjamin Rein, 14
Brady and Bündchen married in February 2009 and welcomed Benjamin Rein, their first child together, on Dec. 8, 2009, in Boston.
In the ESPN+ series Man in the Arena: Tom Brady, the couple reflected on their son’s home birth, of which Brady was initially skeptical. He eventually got on board and now remembers the day fondly, explaining, “Me being there with G at his birth in our home, it lives in my mind. I think we brought this boy into the world in the most precious way.”
Brady has said that while he initially assumed his two sons would share the same interests, Benjamin isn’t a big fan of sports, which was hard for the football star at first.
“I was like, ‘C’mon, let’s do this.’ And he was like, ‘Nope.’ And I was like, ‘What? No, do this!’ ” he explained to Men’s Health. “And Gisele kept saying to me, ‘Would you effing understand that your son is different?’ ”
He added, “It was hard for me. I was like, ‘What do you mean? He’s a boy; he should do all these things that I do.’ ”
However, Brady has since learned to embrace Benjamin’s interests, explaining, “The reality is that Benny just likes different things. And it’s great because now I just have to go do what he wants to do.
Benjamin did decide to try football eventually, but not to emulate his famous father.
In a September 2023 episode of Let’s Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, Brady explained that his son wanted to be a tight end like Rob Gronkowski. “So I actually texted Gronk and I’m like, ‘Yo, my boy wants to be like you!’ And he loved it,” Brady said.
In December 2023, the proud parents marked their son’s 14th birthday with another set of Instagram posts. “My son Benny, can you believe it? Fourteen years old already! It seems like yesterday you were running around in your superhero cape, and now you’re definitely a superhero to me ,” Brady captioned a photo of his son in a football uniform.
“You’ve grown so much, and not just in height (seriously, watch out @gronk You’ve grown in kindness, smarts, and all-around awesomeness,” Brady added. “Your ability to make people laugh, your knack for solving problems, and your endless debating skills make you a force to be reckoned with.”
Bündchen shared her own tribute to the boy. “Happy birthday to the sweetest boy! You have the biggest heart and I feel so lucky I get to learn with you everyday. Te amo muito,” she captioned a carousel post, which featured various photos of Benjamin. “Ps. One day your baby will stand as tall as you are. And you won’t be ready for it.”
Vivian Lake, 11
The couple welcomed their daughter, Vivian Lake, on Dec. 5, 2012, in Boston. A few days after her birth, Brady told ESPN, “I grew up in a house with three sisters. I think it’s great for my boys to have a girl in the house, just to understand at least a little bit about what makes a woman tick — not that I can certainly figure that out, because I can’t. She’s a beautiful little girl.”
When Vivian was a toddler, Brady admitted that he became a bit of a softie around her. “That little girl owns my day — owns my life,” he told Entertainment Tonight in 2016. “[I] cannot say no to anything. Whatever she tells her dad to do, that’s what I do. That’s just the way it goes.”
Prior to his retirement, Vivian and her siblings were often seen in the stands cheering for Brady, including at his first game against the Patriots after signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That same month, Vivian, Benjamin and Bündchen celebrated Halloween as the “Tampa Bay Pirates.”
Vivian has a lot in common with her mom. They enjoy yoga, meditation and riding horses together. So much so, that Bündchen bought a horse farm in 2023.
“I was taking her riding at this place, and every time I was taking her there, it became paparazzi central. I was like, ‘I can’t live like this. I want to be enjoying with my daughter,’ ” she told PEOPLE. “This should be a fun thing that we get to do together. So I was like, this way, I can have her practice what she loves.”
In December 2023, Brady marked his youngest’s 11th birthday with a sweet post on Instagram. The NFL star included photos of Vivian through the years, including playing tennis and football.
“Happy 11th birthday to the sweetest little angel in my life! Watching you grow into the amazing person you are brings me so much joy. You are always a bright star to all of us,” Brady wrote in the caption.
