Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady issued a hilarious invitation to his close friend and former teammate in Rob Gronkowski.

Brady announced his retirement from football (for real, this time) on Feb. 1 after 23 seasons. In a humorous matter, the seven-time Super Bowl champion tweeted that he’s holding his “unofficial retirement party” on Mar. 16.

And what’s a retirement party for Brady without Gronkowski? Of course the three-time league MVP invited his pal and fellow future Hall of Fame inductee:

Both men have announced retirement from football twice, but it definitely looks like these two are finished with football altogether. Gronkowski retired after the 2021 season and resisted the temptation to come back for another year in 2022.

Gronkowski initially retired after helping the New England Patriots to a Super Bowl 53 championship, but he decided to return after one year off and reunite with Brady in Tampa Bay. The Patriots traded Gronkowski to the Bucs, where he went on to win a fourth Super Bowl championship.

Brady’s initial retirement lasted just 40 days last year before he announced that he was coming back. The Buccaneers won the NFC South with a record of 8-9 but were eliminated by the Dallas Cowboys on Super Wild Card Weekend.
