TOM Brady had high praise for Lamar Jackson on his podcast.
On an episode of Let’s Go!, Brady had only good things to say to Jackson before the start of the NFL playoffs.
Tom Brady had high praise for the MVP favorite Lamar Jackson
Jackson appreciated the praise coming from the GOAT
“First time I ever really noticed you was that high school highlight where you put the brakes on the guy and he went flying by,” Brady said.
“I don’t even know what that feels like, but now you’re doing that at the highest level.
“You’re the reason why people watch the NFL, because of guys like you.”
It was almost like a passing of the torch moment between Tom Brady, who dominated the league for years, to Lamar Jackson who is on his way to his second NFL MVP award and taking over as the top quarterback in the league.
“I appreciate that,” Jackson said.
“It means a lot coming from you.”
Jackson is coming off an exceptional season that is almost guaranteed to win him MVP this year.
In 16 games, Jackson passed for 3,678 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Alongside that, he ran for 821 yards with an additional five touchdowns.
Jackson also earned his third Pro Bowl appearance this year, making the game in three of his first five years as a full-time starter.
Behind Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens played to a 13-4 record and secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC. This means they will get a bye in the playoffs and get an immediate berth in the divisional round.
Among the playoff teams that win the AFC Wild Card games, the Ravens will play the lowest seeded team.
Jackson won’t find out if he is the league MVP until February 8, the day of the NFL Honors show.
However, Jackson likely will hope he can’t attend the show due to his team playing in the Super Bowl a few days later.
