Tom Brady Is Being Blamed For Ruining English Football Team’s Season With His Disastrous Ownership Decision

Tom Brady is learning that being the owner of a team is not as easy as being an NFL quarterback.

English soccer legend Wayne Rooney has been fired from his managerial position at Birmingham City Football Club after just 15 games, having been hired by Brady and the club’s other owners last year.

Birmingham is in 20th place in the English Football League, which is the second division of English football, right below the Premier League. They’ve only managed 25 po ints after 26 games.

The Blues, as they’re also known, were in sixth place with a shot at a playoff place and Premier League promotion when Rooney took over as coach. However, they’ve quickly plummeted to 20th, with just four teams now below them.

The club last played in the Premier League in 2011 and fans were hoping to see it return under the new ownership group.

Reports note that Brady and his partners wanted to make a “big name hire” but Rooney’s CV did not suggest that he would have been a good coach despite retiring as one of the best strikers ever, as well as England’s top scorer.

Brady became a minority owner and chairman of a new advisory board in August 2023, partnering with Knighthead Capital Management LLC.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner is also a minority owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces and Major League Pickleball team, the Las Vegas Night Owls. He is expected to soon own a stake in the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
