Tom Brady claims ‘people tried to create division’ between him and Bill Belichick before New England Patriots exit

TOM Brady thinks the issues between him and Bill Belichick were blown out of proportion in New England.

At this end of his time with the Patriots, there were lots of reports stating that there were issues between Brady and Belichick that couldn’t be solved.

While Brady ended up leaving the Patriots for the Buccaneers, he has always maintained his respect for Belichick and the things they accomplished together.

“Obviously my respect for coach Belichick is pretty well documented,” Brady said.

“He was an incredible leader and coach for our team. I tried to do my best every day that I took the field and he did the same thing.

“I think that’s why I respected his coaching so much.”

On The Pat McAfee show on Tuesday, Brady revealed that he thinks the issues between him and Belichick weren’t as big as they were made out to be.

“Toward the later part of my career I really think there was so much people trying to create division,” Brady said.

“Most of it was untrue, but it’s just the way the world works. Naturally, I think division from within is a big problem in these team environments.

“I don’t like seeing any disfunction in team environments. I like everyone seeing things through one set of eyes, through one goal, through one mission.”

Brady and Belichick won six Super Bowls together before splitting up after the 2019 season.

They won 219 games together and only lost 64 during their 20-year stretch in New England.

Belichick made his exit from the Patriots earlier this month, leaving him jobless, but he doesn’t plan on retiring like Brady.

In an appearance on The Herd later on Tuesday, Brady was confident Belichick would find a place to coach.

“I think the fire burns with him,” Brady said.

“Because he loves the sport. He loves the preparation. He’s been doing it for decades. And, in my mind, there’s nobody better than him at it.

“So, whoever gets him at some point is gonna have, in my opinion, the greatest coach ever.”
