Ben Affleck’s love story with two of the greatest Jennifers in the entertainment industry has been, perhaps, one of the most talked about things of all time. While it all started with Jennifer Lopez and is currently going with her as well, Jennifer Garner became yet another major part of the Hollywood heartthrob Affleck’s love life.

That being said, it all inevitably seems to have started one fateful night during an event recorded on camera and preserved ever since. This was evident from how Garner was seemingly flirting with her Daredevil co-star during the event. But what’s surprising is that not only was Affleck engaged to Lopez back then, but even Garner was married!

For a pair that first met three years prior on the sets of Pearl Harbor in 2000, it seems like the time Jennifer Garner actually fell in love with her now ex-husband and father of her three children was during one fateful dinner night. This dates back to 2003, when the pair’s Marvel debut movie Daredevil hit the screens.

This period saw the pair attending the IFC Dinner For Five event together, and it was during this very episode that Garner seemingly made it evident that Affleck meant something to her. And, ironically enough, both these actors weren’t single at that time, with the actress being married to Scott Foley while the actor was engaged to Lopez.

For instance, somewhere around midway into the episode, Kevin Smith started making fun of the Good Will Hunting star. However, the Elektra actress was quick to jump to Affleck’s rescue as she even went as far as to say (via FMfilms on YouTube):

Yeah, I feel like I might have to kick your a—!

To this, even Jon Favreau, who hosted the event, couldn’t help but comment:

She’s protective, she’s very protective of him.

Obviously, defending her Daredevil co-star this way was an incredibly bold move at the end of the Deadpool & Wolverine actress, even though Ben Affleck cheered her on as soon as she said she would kick anyone’s a— who tried to insult him that way.

If anything, this was sheer proof that Garner was seemingly interested in him, even though she definitely knew about his engagement to Jennifer Lopez. But what’s even more interesting is that this wasn’t all; Garner had a lot more to say and do.

Jennifer Garner Continued to Make Ben Affleck Feel Loved and Appreciated

Continuing, around 20 minutes into the episode, the Alias actress was asked how she got cast in Daredevil. To this, she explained how she scored the role of Elektra and, in the meanwhile, also gave an incredibly genuine thanks to her now ex-husband for not making her audition, which she considered a “miserable experience.”

That’s not all. Besides channeling her inner Elektra to defend her lover’s honor and giving him the ultimate look of sincere gratitude and affection, Garner landed the final blow with the adoring reaction she held on her face as she watched Affleck share a funny Oscars and Writers Guild Awards story of him and Matt Damon.

Effortlessly enough, this very moment (in the picture attached) of the Yes Day actress looking ever so lovingly at her co-star could be pinned as the very moment she must have fallen in love with him. Plus, Affleck seems to have realized it all as well since, within a year after this, he had broken his engagement with Lopez, and he and Garner were reported to be dating before they finally tied the knot in 2005.

While this was indeed a twisted way this wild saga between the trio began, it all seems to have come back full circle considering how Ben Affleck once again found his way back to Jennifer Lopez.
