On Friday, July 19, fans at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Gelsenkirchen’s Veltins Arena were treated to a surprise performance offstage by none other than Anne Hathaway. The 41-year-old actress was spotted in the VIP section, showcasing her dance moves and enjoying the concert to the fullest.
Hathaway, known for her roles in films such as “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Les Misérables,” was caught on camera by several fans grooving to Swift’s hits. In multiple videos shared on X (formerly Twitter), she could be seen dancing energetically to tracks like “…Ready for It,” “Shake It Off,” and “Blank Space.”
In one particularly lively clip, Hathaway held her arms out, raised them high, and jumped up and down as Swift, 34, performed “Shake It Off” from her 1989 album. Another video showed her lifting her arm to the beat of “Blank Space” while chatting with a nearby companion. During the “Reputation” era of the concert, Hathaway swayed side to side and moved her arms to the rhythm of “…Ready for It.”
The next day, Hathaway took to her Instagram Stories to express her admiration for Swift’s performance. Alongside a video of the singer on stage, she wrote, “Thank you phenomenal, moving, powerful, fearless @TaylorSwift!!! Huge shout out to the incredible Eras crew!!! Best picture-wrap celebration EVER.”
The July 19 show was Swift’s third and final performance in Gelsenkirchen before heading to Hamburg for the next stop of her Eras Tour on Tuesday, July 23. This concert featured a surprise mashup of “Paper Rings” from 2019 and “Stay Stay Stay” from 2012’s Red, which was rereleased in 2021 as Red (Taylor’s Version).
Kelce, 34, was not at the Gelsenkirchen show, but he did attend Swift’s concerts on July 17 and 18. The Kansas City Chiefs player has since returned to the U.S. for training camp in Missouri, gearing up for the preseason games in August and the regular season starting in September.
