Rob Parker could not wait to throw water on the retirement announcement for Tom Brady.
After releasing an early morning video while at the beach to announce he was leaving the NFL for good, just everybody started speaking highly of his career that spanned 23 seasons. Not everybody was on that same boat.
Rob Parker took to Twitter and pointed out the New England Patriots’ cheating scandals, including the suspension Brady served for his involvement in Deflategate. He also brought up that everybody remembers these things and adds it to his story just as they do for Barry Bonds in Major League Baseball.
“Don’t forget to mention the @Patriots cheating scandal – Spygate – and Brady being suspended by the @NFL for cheating – Deflategate – when you tell his story. Include everything like you do for Bonds, Clemens and others who had blemishes in their careers,” Parker tweeted.
After falling short in 10 years on the writers’ ballot, Barry Bonds was not voted into the Hall of Fame by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee which failed to add him to the 2023 Hall of Fame class.
Players must get 75 percent of the support in order to get into the Hall of Fame. Bonds now must wait until at least 2026 to get into the Hall of Fame.
