NFL Analyst Floats Potential Destination For Tom Brady In 2024
Now that Tom Brady is divorced, he no longer has a wife at home to ask him to retire, which means reports are going to surface of him possibly playing yet another season in the National Football League.
Yet another year means he might actually be playing it with another squad. Rumors are now suggesting that Brady has interest in taking his talents to the San Francisco 49ers.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer spoke on where Tom Brady could end up during a discussion with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Zo and Bertrand.”
The team that came up was the 49ers.
“It’s something they discussed internally in January and February, let’s say they win the Super Bowl, and let’s say Jimmy leaves after they win the Super Bowl, and let’s say Tom Brady wants to go there?”
The hosts disagreed and argued that Brady wouldn’t want to join a team that just won a Super Bowl.
Breer wasn’t so sure.
“This would check a lot of boxes,” Breer concluded. “Being able to finish in San Francisco, great offensive coach in Kyle Shanahan, great talent around him in Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, [George] Kittle, Christian McCaffrey behind you. There are a lot of fun possibilities out there with Tom.”
When Tom Brady announced he would be leaving the Patriots, there were rumors he could be headed to the 49ers, but he wound up in Tampa. That turned out to be a grand idea as he won another Super Bowl while the 49ers reached the NFC Championship Game last season before losing to the Los Angeles Rams.
So far this year, everything that could go wrong is going wrong and the 49ers are looking like Super Bowl contenders after trading for Christian McCaffrey.
Brady is just 164 yards away from reaching 100,000 yards in his career, which would make him the first player in league history to reach six figures in passing yards.
Brady hasn’t had the typical Brady season, completing 65.9% of his passes for 2,267 yards with nine touchdowns to one interception.
