Pat McAfee has weighed in on the speculation over Tom Brady possibly coming out of retirement a second time.
Brady, 45, announced his retirement in a video posted to his Instagram on Wednesday morning. He’s now set for a career on television, having signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with FOX.
There are many who reckon Brady will still be in the NFL next season as a team will be able to coax him out of retirement. And who could blame them? He’s already reopened the curtains once.
He’d lose a lot of respect if he does it a second time, though.
McCafee addressed the matter on his podcast this Thursday, saying there’s no way Brady comes out of retirement a second time, pointing out that “pump faking” twice on retirement wouldn’t be a good look for the seven-time Super Bowl winner.
The former punter reminded fans that Brady has $375 million waiting for him while noting that a second return to pro football would give the ex-quarterback the look of someone who can’t commit to something.
Brady’s first retirement U-turn might have cost him his marriage; a second one would probably cost him his reputation.
