Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have spent almost a year married but with J.Lo’s new album on the way an insider claims she wants better support from her husband
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been married for about a year and a half now, and with her first album in over a decade almost out, she wants him to be the perfect supporting husband.
J.Lo is releasing her ninth studio album, This Is Me…Now, in February of next year as a follow-up to her 2002 album This Is Me…Then. The album is reportedly set to have a song called Dear Ben Pt. II dedicated to her husband. Her 2002 album had a song named Dear Ben that was also about the actor as the two were dating at the time.
Though the two broke up and went on to have separate marriages – Ben to Jennifer Garner and Jen to Marc Anthony – they reconciled 20 years after they first met. And now that they’re married, the Jenny From The Block singer wants her hubby to “step up” for her promotional events, according to an insider who spoke to Heat.
“This is a huge year for her, with the new album and movie, plus a whole lot more – Ben needs to get on board and project that image of the ultimate glamorous Hollywood couple,” the source said, “So no excuses, awkwardness, or sulking will be tolerated. Divorce is not an option for them in 2024.”
There have been rumours this past summer of the couple being on the rocks, but they’ve reportedly been going to therapy and working it out. The insider said that Jennifer told Ben there’s “no margin for error” as she wants nothing but a financially successful run for her album.
“She’s convinced that if they’ll play it right, they’ll come out of it as the undisputed king and queen of Hollywood,” the source said.
They continued: “It’s not so much about rolling out Brand Bennifer, since their individual earning power is already so big. But she does see huge value in incorporating themselves into each other’s professional worlds.”
Jennifer also recently reportedly helped Ben with award strategy for his latest film Air and consulting on various upcoming projects. Air recently won the Visionary Icon & Creator Tribute at the Gotham Awards this year.
