We know that divorce doesn’t happen between a couple who are happy and in love. If that were the case, the marriage wouldn’t have ended. Still, even through the struggles, it’s generally frowned upon to air that dirty laundry. That is precisely why actor Ben Affleck got heat after he spoke about his marriage with now-ex wife Jennifer Garner on a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show.
He said he felt “trapped,” and now his current girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, is “pissed.”
During Ben’s interview with Howard Stern, he opened up about his marriage to now-ex Jennifer Garner and the three kids they share. According to Ben, marriage troubles began after his children were born.
“I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy. What do I do?’ And what I did was I drank a bottle of scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution,” he said in the interview.

He also seemingly blamed Jennifer Garner for his struggles with alcohol.
Ben and Jennifer were married from 2005 to 2018, and in that time, they had three kids together. Ben shared in the interview that his marriage and the issues he and Jennifer Garner were having led him to drink.
“We probably would’ve ended up at each other’s throats,” he explained. “I probably still would’ve been drinking. Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped.”
