Jalen Hurts has taken an exit at the first opportunity as his Eagles are out of the playoffs following a season in which they raced to 10-1 before proceeding to win just one of the six games that followed.
Hurts struggled against the Buccaneers on Monday night, passing for 250 yards and a single touchdown during a 32-9 loss.
The defeat has thrown Nick Sirianni’s job security into question and reporters would ask Hurts about it during his post-game presser, more specifically whether he wants the 42-year-old to stay on as head coach.
“I didn’t know he was going anywhere,” the quarterback replied, per CBS.
Asked for his confidence level in Sirianni’s ability to fix things in Philly, the QB insisted he has belief in everyone in the organization.
“I have a ton of confidence in everyone in this building,” he said. “It’s just a matter of us going out there and playing clean football. That’s been something we have not done.”
It sounds as if Hurts wants Sirianni to stick around, though he wasn’t going to say otherwise no matter how he felt.
