Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has dealt with more than her fair share of criticism across her basketball career.
While most fans respect her incredible accomplishments, there are always detractors who have something to say about the way Indiana’s star rookie plays the game.
In fact, some women’s basketball legends like Diana Taurasi and Sheryl Reeve have been critical of Clark in the past (although Taurasi has since walked back her words).
Another WNBA legend named Cheryl has only lifted Clark up.
We’re talking about Cheryl Miller, an Olympic champion and one of the best college basketball players of all time, regardless of gender.
A clip of Miller talking about Clark surfaced on social media Monday. In it, Miller made it clear what she loves most about Clark’s game.
“You can set a screen for Caitlin, (but) Caitlin don’t need a screen,” Miller said. “Caitlin has got great handles. … The one thing that I don’t think people really appreciate about the young lady’s game is that she can pass the ball.
It’s great to see a legend of the game giving the 22-year-old rookie sensation her flowers in this way.
