The life of an NBA or a
WNBA first-pick is usually never easy, they gets plunged into the spotlight instantly and they also get a hard time by their peers inside the court. But first-pic players need to go through this sort of ‘trial by fire’ moment if they want to live up to the greatness that people think they have. In
Caitlin Clark’s case, this difficult first season falls exactly in this category. As soon as the rookies arrived this season, it was almost as if the established WNBA stars didn’t exist. Currently, there is a number of great players who can be considered the face of the league but all the attention is on Clark, Resse, Brinks, and other rookies. Someone who has a controversial take was already a first-round pick during her time but she is now retired.
