The 28-year-old is collaborating with pharmaceutical company Kaléo to promote their Auvi-q allergy injector for infants. The former soccer player is married to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and the couple share two children: Sterling Skye, 2, and one-year-old Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.

The partnership follows her son’s health scare in August. Bronze was rushed to E.R. after suffering an allergic reaction to peanuts, which the mom of two described as “the scariest 30 mins of my life.”

In a promo video posted to Instagram on Wednesday, Brittany Mahomes recounted the experience with her followers, while holding her children on her lap.

“I have an infant and a toddler, both who have severe food allergies,” the entrepreneur said in the clip. “I think it is very important to raise awareness of what a severe reaction may look like, if it was to happen to a child.

“Based on my experience, a severe reaction may not look how you think it should look.”

Although many viewers praised Mahomes for sharing her story, an item in Bronze’s hand caught the attention of others.

“I thought bronze was holding a pregnancy test,” said Jess Morris.

“Same girl!” wrote Carah Rheem.

“I was like what?!!!” said Sadie.

“I’m glad I’m not the only one,” commented Maddi Herres.

Newsweek has reached out to Brittany Mahomes for comment via Instagram.

Although some also suggested Bronze was holding an Auvi-q epinephrine injector in the footage, the toddler was actually holding a toy, a representative for the company said.

In case of a reaction, also known as anaphylaxis, a parent can inject their infant or toddler with an epinephrine injector and stop the body from producing more histamine, the chemical that reacts to allergens and causes the body to go into shock.

According to the Mayo Clinic, epinephrine injectors can prevent hospitalization and save lives, although you should still seek medical advice even after using an epinephrine injector.

“Like all moms, my kids’ safety and happiness is my number one priority,” Mahomes said in the video caption.

“I’m so excited to be partnering with @auvi_q to help spread awareness about severe food allergies in young children and how to best respond.”

Many users applauded Mahomes for the partnership, dubbing her the “Best Mama Ever!”

“Thanks for always educating people and helping others!!” said Sharon.

“As a food allergy mama and coach, I love that you’re spreading food allergy awareness and safety!” wrote Corinna.

“Haters have nothing to run their mouths off to for this one,” said Kelly Fulton Amis. “She’s using her platform for a great purpose.”

It may have been a false alarm this time, but Patrick Mahomes has previously confirmed that he would like more children with Brittany.

During an appearance on the First Class Fatherhood in February 2023, the 28-year-old said the couple would like to expand their family, but not yet.

“You’ve got one and one. Are you going to try and break the tie?” host Alec Lace asked Mahomes, to which the NFL star replied: “Oh no, I’m not going to break the tie for a while at least.”

“I got a girl and a boy and I’m 27, and I’m going to let these kids grow up,” he continued.

“It’s hard when you get home after a long day at work and you got the baby in one arm or a baby in the other arm at all times.”
