When a young fan met her hero and was given the singer’s hat, it was the moment of a lifetime that she will never forget.
There was almost 100,000 people at the Melbourne MCG, but one young Taylor Swift fan was picked out to meet the singer. It was a memorable moment.
On Friday night, Milana Bruno, 9, and her younger sister could barely see the stage because they were so far back in the crowd.
Renée Bruno, Milana’s mother, told the Herald Sun, “My girls were dancing on the chairs because they were so far back they couldn’t really see her.”
Two staff members came up to her during the show and asked if Milana was her daughter.
They told her, “She has to come with us.”
The staff member just smiled at Ms. Bruno when she asked why her daughter was being led away.
She said, “Believe me, she’ll want to come with us.”
Following Milana through the crowd of delighted fans to the stage, Ms. Bruno and her other daughter did the same.
It was so sweet when Milana and Taylor Swift hugged, and Milana gave Swift one of her friendship bands in exchange for her famous “22” hat. The photo has since gone viral.
Then they talked for a short time before Swift gushed to Milana, “Aww, thank you so much for coming.”
Because Ms. Bruno fell for a Facebook ticket scam and didn’t get her daughters tickets until Tuesday, she was afraid they would miss the Taylor Swift show. This made the moment even more special.
Australia is now truly Swift-crazy, with almost 200,000 lucky fans seeing the first two nights of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Melbourne’s MCG.
Swift has one more show in Melbourne on Sunday night before she leaves for Sydney, where she will play four shows from Friday to Monday.
Swift is going to be performing at Sydney’s Olympic Park, which is currently being checked for asbestos.
The environment minister for NSW has told fans that the singer’s shows will still happen despite the tests.
Ms. Sharpe said that the first test didn’t find any asbestos, but that a second test was being done just in case.
“Samples are being tested, but we can still get rid of the mulch and fix the problem in time for Taylor Swift to perform,” Ms. Sharpe said.
