Caitlin Clark’s ‘Wish’ Leaves WNBA Fans Heartbroken
While the Indiana Fever are struggling this season, Caitlin Clark continues to break WNBA records. During the Fever’s 89-77 loss to the Seattle Storm, Clark became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 300+ points, 100+ rebounds, and 100+ assists.
However, Clark also leads the league with 106 total turnovers on 126 assists. While she’s the easily the most popular player in the league, Clark is still a rookie adjusting to the WNBA.
During a press conference on June 27, Clark was asked, “What’s the best advice a vet has given you in [a] game this season?”
“Nobody gives me advice in games. I wish,” the 22-year-old answered.
Clark’s response left fans heartbroken. While the WNBA’s No. 1 overall pick was talking about veterans on other teams not giving her in game advice, the comment still stung. Veterans dropping a quick comment to rookie during a game is not uncommon to see.
One fan responded, “God people’s jealousy is pathetic.” Another person wrote, Woooooooooow. U could kind of see the hurt in her eyes & voice too. This is pretty sad & pathetic.”
One person posted, “No one taking CC under their wing is crazyyyyyy, ain’t no one assign her a vet?”
Overall, Clark is still faring well. She leads all rookies with an average of 16.6 points and 6.6 assists per game.
