Caitlin Clark’s Boyfriend’s Reaction During Fever-Lynx Game Speaks Volumes

The Indiana Fever were looking to win their sixth-consecutive game against the Minnesota Lynx on September 6. The Fever have been on a 7-1 hot streak since returning from Olympic break. The only team to defeat Indiana during the second half of the season, however, was the Lynx.

While Clark became the fastest player in WNBA history to record 200+ assists with 200+ rebounds against the Lynx, and broke Kelsey Mitchell’s franchise record for most threes in a season (103 and counting), Indiana fell apart in third quarter. While Clark scored a team-high 25 points, with 8.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists, the Fever lost 99-88.

Supporting Clark during Friday night’s matchup, the rookie’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, who sat courtside next to Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton, just as he did during the Sparks-Fever game. McCaffery, who works as an assistant for the Pacers, once again proved to be Clark’s biggest fan.

According to the Indy Star’s Chloe Peterson, McCaffery, along with Haliburton, stood up to applaud for every major Fever play.

Before the game started, McCaffery made it clear that he was also a huge fan of Clark’s pregame outfit. He posted a photo of his girlfriend on his Instagram Stories with the “ahem” emoji.

McCaffery, who celebrated his one-year anniversary with Clark last April, continues to be huge pillar of support for rookie phenom. The 22-year-old posted a heartfelt message to McCaffery for his birthday in July.

Clark wrote to the former Iowa Hawkeye on Instagram, “Celebrating you is easy 🙂 thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life🖤 May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me 😉 Love you always 🥺🤍.”

It’s official: the Indiana Fever are heading to the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Despite not playing a game on Tuesday, September 3, the Fever booked their tickets to the postseason after both the Chicago Sky and the Atlanta Dream lost their games to the Las Vegas Aces and Phoenix Mercury, respectively.

The Fever are 17-16 on the season heading into Tuesday’s slate of games, having won six of their last seven outings. Meanwhile, Angel Reese and the Sky dropped to 11-22 after losing their seventh straight game, though they remain at No. 8 in the WNBA standings.

Atlanta is just behind Chicago at No. 9 with an 11-22 record as well.

Indiana has seven games remaining on the season, so the worst they could finish is 17-23. Meanwhile, the best that both Chicago and Atlanta could do is 18-23.

Since both the Sky and Dream still have one game against each other this season, it means only one of them can make it past the postseason and the Fever won’t finish lower than the eighth seed by virtue of having the head-to-head tie-breaker against the two squads.

Caitlin Clark and Co. are 3-1 against the Sky for the season and 3-0 so far against the Dream.
