In the final seconds of the Indiana Fever’s road matchup against the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, Caitlin Clark seemed to stare down Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve. The Fever’s star rookie was seen hyping up the away crowd as she headed to the free-throw line after being fouled and seemed to stare directly at Reeve, who was on the sidelines.

Cheryl Reeve is also the coach of the USA women’s basketball team, which was under scrutiny for not selecting Caitlin Clark for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. However, Clark had previously said that she’s not disappointed and that she will use not being selected for the Olympic roster as an incentive to get better and potentially make the team in 2028.

“I don’t give two sh*ts”: Cheryl Reeve gives blunt response about fans cheering for Caitlin Clark and Co at Lynx home game

Though it wasn’t necessarily a pro-Fever crowd at the sold-out Target Center in Minnesota, there were plenty of fans supporting the away team amid the Lynx crowd. In the pregame interview ahead of the matchup on Sunday, coach Cheryl Reeve had a blunt response when asked about the anticipated influx of Fever fans in the crowd.

“I don’t give two sh*ts,” Reeve said. “Not even one sh*t.”

The support for Caitlin Clark and co. was audible from the opening tip and was consistent throughout their road game. The 2024 WNBA draft’s first overall pick reciprocated the love as she made her way around the crowd ahead of the game to sign autographs for fans sporting the Fever gear.

Sunday’s game concluded with the Indiana Fever rallying from a 60-53 deficit to defeat Cheryl Reeve’s Minnesota Lynx 81-74 on the road. Aliyah Boston led the Fever’s victory charge with her double-double performance of 17 points, 16 rebounds, two assists and four blocks. Caitlin Clark added 17 points, three rebounds, six assists and two steals to the win.
