After the Indiana Fever’s 89-77 loss to the Seattle Storm on Thursday night, their second in a row, the arguably the team’s two biggest stars were involved in an awkward exchange.
Caitlin Clark was brutally shut down by Aliyah Boston in the post-game press conference after the first several questions were asked to her, and no one acknowledged Boston.
That prompted the rookie sensation to say ‘ask Aliyah a question!’, to which Boston replied ‘No, I’m good!’ emphatically.
Clark reasserted that she wanted someone in the media to ask Boston a question, with someone in the assembled press in Seattle obliging.
Boston and Clark were both clearly frustrated with the result that keeps the fever out of the WNBA‘s playoff picture by combining to score 26 points against the Storm.

Clark and Boston had the awkward exchange after the Indiana Fever’s loss to the Storm
There have no been any true signs of dissension between Clark and Boston before, as they’re both integral to any future Indiana success.
Clark’s rookie season has been placed under an enormous microscope due to her being at the forefront of the rise in popularity of women’s basketball, dating back to her career at Iowa.
Boston walked in the exact shoes Clark is currently wearing. She was a dominant college player at South Carolina and was the No 1 overall selection in last year’s WNBA Draft to the Fever.
After being an afterthought in a league looking for relevancy, those concerns are gone with Clark’s addition.
Yet, as a team, the Fever have yet to reap the rewards commonly associated with Clark.
Things won’t get any easier for the Mercury coming up, as a first-time ever matchup between Clark and Diana Taurasi looms on Sunday, before finishing up a road trip against the Las Vegas Aces.
