Stephen Curry, Ray Allen and JR Smith are 3-point specialists who love golf.
Former Iowa Hawkeyes guard Caitlin Clark, the best player in women’s college basketball, also has an excellent golf swing, proving that shooters make the best golfers.
During an interview with Big Ten Network in December 2022, Clark was shown golfing along with some friends, claiming that the sport helps her with competition.
She has been golfing for most of her life, and it shows, displaying a beautiful swing that has fans going crazy.
With the 2023 Masters currently in session, her golf swing has now gone viral, but it wasn’t the only reason she made the news.
Clark, whose team lost in the final of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, recently made headlines due to getting a taste of her own medicine courtesy of LSU Tigers star Angel Reese.
Caitlin Clark is Michael Jordan or Larry Bird?
Clark, 21, has often been compared to Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird for her pure shooting stroke.
Now, she is being compared to Michael Jordan, who was also known for loving golf, and being quite good at it, too.
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and retired NBA champions, Ray Allen and JR Smith, are all 3-point specialists who excel at golf.
Like the aforementioned players, Clark is also a sniper, with a career 38 per cent shooting from deep.
Basketball shooters are natural golfers
Smith, 37, joined the golf team at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University shortly after retiring from the NBA.
Curry, 35, has some golfing highlights that made some pundits believe he could go pro on the PGA Tour. He has reportedly been great at golf since his college days.
Allen, 47, is another shooter who focused on golf right after leaving the league, crediting Smith for leading him to the sport.
Clark now joins this group of sharp-shooters who also love to hit the golf course, and if she continues to succeed in basketball, it’s possible she’ll compete against them in the future.
