Caitlin Clark is furious with the referees in tonight’s Indiana Fever vs. Washington Mystics game.
We don’t blame her.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft was brutally hacked by a Mystics forward on Wednesday night. Somehow, the foul was not called.
Clark was incredulous after the play. All referees miss calls from time to time, but when you swat down on someone like that, and make clear contact with the arm, it should be called 100 times out of 100.
The blatant no-call comes a couple of days after Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese accused the refs of being biased in favor of Clark.
“It was a basketball play. I can’t control the refs. They affected the game obviously a lot today,” she told reporters.
“I’m always going for the ball. Y’all are going to play that clip 20 times before Monday.”
She added that Clark receives a special whistle from the WNBA referees. Apparently, that doesn’t happen every game.
Still, the Fever managed to get past the bad officiating, defeating the Mystics on Wednesday night. Indiana has now won three straight games as Clark and Co. are heating up.
