Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese tension returns thanks to Connor McCaffery’s brother’s controversial remarks.

For one unforgettable moment during the WNBA All-Star Game, it looked like the tension between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese had finally been squashed. But Clark’s on court actions have been undermined by her controversial boyfriend Connor McCaffery, whose family can’t keep Angel Reese’s name out of their mouths.

Clip of Jack McCaffery talking about Angel Reese and Brittney Griner

Jack McCaffery, brother of Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery, made some uncomfortable comments about Reese and fellow WNBA star Brittney Griner on a TikTok live video, hosted by none other than Clark’s former Iowa teammate.

“You guys weren’t responding to any of my questions in the live,” Jack says to Iowa basketball player Jada Gyamfi from out of the frame.

“I just kept saying rate Angel Reese 1-10,” he says, laughing and trying to get the viewers to comment on Reese’s appearance.

Then, he targeted Brittney Griner, the formerly exiled star who has returned to her best for the Phoenix Mercury and Team USA this year. McCaffery makes an insensitive remark about Griner’s sexuality and follows it with a callous joke about her being detained in Russia, before begging the chat to join in.

Caitlin Clark unbothered by controversial boyfriend

Clark’s passive attitude toward the inflammatory actions of her fan base and her boyfriend have led to criticism of the Indiana Fever rookie who has done so many good things for the league. She plays nice to Reese’s face, but seems unbothered when her boyfriend talks behind her back and tears down Black women in the WNBA.

Clark is currently on vacation in Mexico, tantalizing fans and Connor with swimsuit pics in the sunshine. Meanwhile, Reese’s Paris vacation got off to a bumpy start, but the Chi Town Barbie has also managed to turn some heads on her European travels.

Clark and Reese may have entered the WNBA Olympic break on good terms on the court, but it hasn’t taken long for the outside drama to bring back memories of their intense NCAA rivalry.

MINNEAPOLIS — — Angel Reese became the WNBA’s single-season rebounding leader with eight games left on Sunday in the Chicago Sky’s 79-74 loss to the Minnesota Lynx, who got 22 points from Courtney Williams.

Reese finished with 17 points and 19 rebounds for her 24th double-double, a league rookie record. She has 418 rebounds for an average of 13.1 per game, with her total surpassing Sylvia Fowles’ record of 404 in 2018. The 6-foot-3 Reese also broke the record for offensive rebounds with 165, passing Yolanda Griffiths (162 in 2001).

Reese and A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces are the only players in the league with at least four games of 15-plus points and 15-plus rebounds this season.

Williams tied a season high in scoring for the Lynx. Kayla McBride added 17 points and Napheesa Collier scored 15 for Minnesota (24-9).

The Lynx, who had their six-game win streak snapped Friday with a 94-76 loss to Dallas, are a league-best 8-1 since the Olympic break.

Chicago (11-21) lost its sixth straight. The Sky fell into a tie with Atlanta for the final playoff spot when the Dream beat the Los Angeles Sparks later Sunday.

Kamilla Cardoso led the Sky with a career-high 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting and had nine rebounds. Michaela Onyenwere scored 15 points.

Collier and Williams each scored four points in a 14-4 opening run and Minnesota never trailed.

The Sky went on an 11-2 run to open the fourth quarter and tied it at 62-all when Diamond DeShields made a driving layup with 7:41 to play. Williams answered with back-to-back pull-up jumpers 24 seconds apart to put the Lynx in front for good.
