Fans waiting to see Tom Brady’s career transition into the broadcasting booth will have to wait at least another year.
Brady announced his retirement from football last Wednesday (presumably for good this time). Last year, he signed a lucrative 10-year contract with FOX worth $375 million to eventually take over over as the analyst on their top commentary team.
During an interview with FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd, Brady revealed that he doesn’t expect to commence his next career until fall 2024.
Ex-Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen is the analyst on the network’s top commentary team with Kevin Burkhardt and Erin Andrews. With Brady unlikely to start in 2023, Olsen will presumably remain the analyst alongside Burkhardt for another year.
Brady announced his retirement from football on Feb. 1 last year, only to announce he was coming back for a 23rd season 40 days later. Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell well short of expectations in 2022, however, finishing just 8-9 en route to a blowout loss at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round.
