Taylor Swift looks stunning on the red carpet at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, held on Sunday (August 25) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The 23-year-old musician flew to New York after wrapping up her concerts in Los Angeles to present at the award show alongside BFF Selena Gomez.
Taylor is also nominated for two awards at the show: Video of the Year and Best Female Video.
The MTV Video Music Awards are famous — or infamous, depending on your perspective — for inspiring some of the wildest and most outrageous red carpet fashions of all time.
Lady Gaga’s raw meat dress, Lil Kim’s purple nipple pasty, and Rose McGowan’s buttock-baring chain mail ensemble were among the highlights from previous years. The 2013 show on Sunday, August 25, featured no frocks made entirely of food, but there were plenty of eye-catching ensembles.
Miley Cyrus, for example, walked the red carpet at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in black leggings and a black off-the-shoulder crop top adorned with a slew of colorful gems, while Taylor Swift looked glam and grown-up in a plunging Herve Leger by Max Azria gown and Marilyn Monroe-style golden curls.
Katy Perry, on the other hand, made a playful statement in an Emanuel Ungaro leopard-print dress with gold embellishments and a thigh-high slit.
