Despite performing well in rebounding, Angel Reese has been on the receiving end of some harsh words. During the game between the Las Vegas Aces and the Chicago Sky on Sunday, Tiffany Hayes was injured unexpectedly. Hayes, who had come in for Chelsea Gray, was giving her best for the Aces when Reese in order to get her hands on the ball mistakenly pushed Michaela Onyenwere who then rolled into Hayes, injuring her. And fans didn’t take it lightly as they slammed Reese for it.
“Angel Reese pushed her own teammate in the back, which resulted in her teammate fallin directly into Tiffany Hayes’ knee. Just goofy,” one fan commented. The user was referring to the fact that Reese was pushing her teammate for a rebounding due to which Onyenwere fell onto Hayes’s knees, who was then seen limping and walking slowly to the locker room. And a lot of spectators felt that the Hayes was done for the day.
Notably. Reese is popular for her double-doubles. In her both last two games, Reese scored an exceptional 20 rebounds during the games against the Phoenix Mercury and the Connecticut Sun on Monday and Friday. Hence, fans noticing Reese’s actions to get a rebound tagged her as selfish and blamed her for shoving into her teammate who eventually fell on Hayes.
While Reese has 11 points and 22 rebounds as of now, Hayes scored 6 points with 5 rebounds. Her shining moment came when Hayes made a 20 foot 2 pointer helping the Aces lessen the trail in the first quarter. She also assisted Alysha Clark and Kelsey Plum for their two-pointers during the second quarter. Hence, the impact she was having in the game was surely missed not only by her teammates but also by her fans. And therefore, they took a dig at Reese.
Fans take a jibe at Angel Reese
“Angel Reese pushed her own teammate while grabbing a rebound and her teammate fell into Tiffany Hayes and injured her. Absolutely unacceptable. #skytown,” another user commented. The fan was critical of the fact that Reese had been scoring high in her rebounds and was subtly pointing out that to take her tally up Reese had pushed her teammate. Meanwhile, Reese had 22 rebounds in the game.
“Angel Reese pushed Michaela who then rolled into Tiffany Hayes’ knee. Rough game. She’s not coming back today. #LVAvsCHI,” another user stated that it didn’t look like Hayes would be back in the game. As mentioned before, she had 6 points with 5 rebounds, which was necessary for the Aces during crucial moments. Nonetheless, the Aces won the game by a 77-75 tally.
“I like Angel Reese but she really has to stop pushing players in the back under the basket. She’s done it twice in 2 mins hurting Tiffany Hayes the 2nd time. #Wnba #Aces #Sky,” another fan stated that this was not the first time that Reese was hurting Hayes. Instead, previously too, the 22-year-old had pushed players to get her hands on the ball.
“Am I trippin or did I just see Angel Reese shove her own teammate into Tiffany Hayes on the Aces?” Another fan could not believe that Reese was going to this limit to take a rebound. As per the fan, pushing one’s teammate was unacceptable.
“Tiffany Hayes get fake hurt every game,” meanwhile one fan came in support of Reese opining that it was fake hurt and didn’t need to be given much attention.

The Fever have won both of their matches after the Olympic break.
The WNBA’shistoric season in ratings, merchandise sales, and arena sellouts resumed last Thursday, marking the return of all teams after a month-long Olympic break. With about 15 games left for each team and exactly one month until the regular season ends, the only certainty is that the league-leading New York Liberty (23-4), who boast a 9-1 record in their last 10 games, are the only team that has clinched a playoff berth.
Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark reacts during the second half of a WNBA basketball game against the Seattle StormAP
Clark vs. Liberty Bench
In yesterday’s dominant 92-75 win by the Indiana Fever (13-15) over the Seattle Storm (17-10), Caitlin Clark once again proved she’s the top contender for the Rookie of the Year award, scoring 23 points and dishing out nine assists. Those nine assists made her the rookie with the most assists in WNBA history, surpassing Ticha Penicheiro, and she still has 12 games left in her season. In the closing moments of the game, there was a brief altercation between the Storm’s bench and Clark when it appeared that Clark was irritating the Storm players by hyping up the home crowd in front of their bench. A Storm player seemed to speed up just to bump into Clark, as seen clearly in the video.

After the shove, Clark was seen telling the Storm bench to “stop crying” and was so fired up that a teammate had to hold her back in the final seconds of the game. Although it’s unclear what exactly was said between the sides, Clark’s attitude shows she’s fired up and ready to prove that being left off the Olympic team might have been a mistake. After her longest break in over a year, she’s rested, reset, and laser-focused, determined to show she’s the real deal and the future of the league-if anyone still needs convincing.
Clark’s Performance So Far
In 28 games this season, Clark is not only considered the favorite for Rookie of the Year by betting odds but also the third favorite (+8000) for MVP, trailing only A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces (17-9) and Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty. Her extraordinary numbers in these first 28 games speak for themselves. After yesterday’s win, Clark secured her 11th game-and her fourth consecutive one-with 20+ points and 5+ assists. She also leads the league in assists (8.3 APG) and is second in minutes played per game (35.2), along with averaging 17.8 points and 5.8 rebounds. Her only “flaw” might be that she leads the WNBA in turnovers, though not all of them are her fault.
