For the second time in half a decade, the Kansas City Chiefs have the chance to become the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the 2004-05 New England Patriots.
Kansas City has gone to the AFC Championship one each of the last six years, and have gone to the Super Bowl in four of the last five years — succeeding the Patriots as the NFL’s new dynasty.
While talking to Brady on SiriusXM’s Let’s Go! podcast, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid pointed out how much Tom Brady’s teams helped the Chiefs.
“It’s tough to get to the Super Bowl,” Reid said. “To be able to back-to-back it, you taught as part of that lesson.
“Not only as a player with the Patriots, also, you kicked our tail at Tampa Bay. And you know that there’s a certain attitude and toughness that’s got to come into each game, and you presented that to us. That was a good learning experience for our guys.”
Like many teams in professional sports, the Chiefs had to learn how to win from those that came before them, and even their head coach is acknowledging that.
After losing to New England in the 2018 AFC Championship, Kansas City went on to defeat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV before losing to Brady, Rob Gronkowski and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.
