Will Smith taunts Tom Brady with hilarious message after victory in Lake Como boat race

Tom Brady doesn’t often lose in sports but Will Smith made sure to share the retired quarterback’s latest rare defeat to the world after his E1 Series victory in Italy.

The 55-year-old actor took to social media to taunt his boat-racing rival on Saturday, as his team, ‘Westbrook Racing,’ topped Team Brady and Team Rafa despite the NFL and tennis star’s vessels coming in first and second in qualifying, 24 hours earlier.

‘We won!!! Sorry ’bout that, @tombrady – My Bad,’ Smith captioned his Instagram post trolling Brady.

‘You know it’s a wonderful thing, I spoke to Tom Brady right before the race… I’m a little boy all over here,’ the Academy Award (Oscar) winner added while celebrating with his crew on the docks of Lake Como.

Brady later replied in the comments under Smith’s post: ‘Until the next time. I’m happy for you! Enjoy it while it lasts because we are coming for ur a$$’

Swapping California for Como, Saturday’s race marked the first time Smith turned out to support this team, joking after the race he’ll have to come to them all in the future.

‘I FaceTimed with Tom Brady just before the race and told him my entire childhood was spent with him beating my team, and I was like, it’s not going to happen out here today,’ Smith said despite technically being eight years older than the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

‘This is so much fun, the energy of it, the people and all the teams. I love it, we’re having a ball.’

E1 Lake Como GP marked the Championship’s second time in Italy – giving a nation obsessed with motorsports a further glimpse of the future of racing.

Rodi Basso, CEO and co-founder of E1 said: ‘From having two of the world’s biggest superstars in Will Smith and Rafa Nadal here, to our stunning setting of the world-renowned hotel Villa d’Este, to a weekend of unpredictable racing – no one in the world is doing what E1 is doing right now.

‘Lake Como, a true Italian wonder, has provided the most beautiful backdrop to this event. The weekend has been electrifying with jeopardy at every turn – we’re creating a new sport that continues to amaze and excite, and believe us, this is just the beginning.’

The next E1 Series race has yet to be confirmed. Earlier this year, races took place in Jeddah, Venice, Marbella and Monaco.
