Gisele Bundchen might be officially free from Tom Brady following their divorce, but a new report is shedding light on how things were before they actually parted ways.

A report from Yahoo details that the supermodel had been living an independent life for several years.

“Despite a source recently saying that Gisele was “devastated” by the split, which fans thought happened after the NFL star took himself out of retirement earlier this year, another source is saying that, although she is still upset, she will be “just fine” on her own; as she has been on her own, so to speak, for years!” Yahoo! News reports.

Gisele always appeared happily cheering on Tom as he played football, and when he finally decided to hang up his cleats earlier this year, things appeared to be going the way she always hoped.

“The model “has lived her own life for years while Tom played football so she is not afraid to do things by herself,” the source added, before going on to say that Gisele’s “main focus and priority” are the children; son Benjamin Rein, 12, and daughter Vivian Lake, 9,” Yahoo! added.

However, Tom Brady would announce his comeback some 40 days later and their marriage went downhill fast. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Bündchen said that it wasn’t easy. “We were dating two and a half months when he found out, and it was a very challenging situation. Obviously, in the beginning, it’s not the ideal thing.”

Following a loss on Thursday Night Football, Brady took to social media to announce, “In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage.” He went on to say they “arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”

On Sunday, the team got out of a funk by picking up a key victory against the Los Angeles Rams. Brady went 36-58 for 280 yards and only a single TD that did not come until the very last minute of the game.

That is all it took for the Buccaneers to beat the Rams 16-13 in the closing seconds of the game at home. After the win, Brady could be seen letting his emotions out with a hug to Byron Leftwich.

With that W, Tampa Bay is now 4-5 on the season.
