Lisa Bluder Addresses Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin WNBA Competition With Two-Word Message – News-LH

Former Iowa Hawkeyes Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin are facing off for the second time of their respective WNBA careers on Tuesday Night.

The first meeting between them was made all the more special because it was attended by their former head coach at Iowa, Lisa Bluder.

And prior to their WNBA rematch, Bluder spoke with USA Today’s Lindsay Schnell about what seeing her two former players competing on women’s basketball’s biggest stage meant to her.

“[It was] so rewarding,” Bluder said.

“When you see your athletes achieve their dreams, that’s what coaching is all about,” Bluder added.

“I absolutely love it. They’re doing what they love to do. And when all three of them were on the floor at the same time, that was a pretty cool moment,” Bluder continued.

The former Iowa coach also noted that she’s happy that Martin and Clark came in the league together because, “Caitlin has someone she can talk to who gets it − I think she really needs that.”

Martin revealed that Bluder will also be in attendance during Tuesday’s game while speaking with media on Monday night.

Let’s see whether her two former players will put on another memorable show.
