ESPN’s Elle Duncan has called out Charles Barkley after he made some comments about Caitlin Clark earlier this week.

During his rant, Barkley criticized some women for being “petty” for hating on Clark as she has started her WNBA career.

“You women out there, y’all petty, man,” Barkley said. “Y’all should be thanking [Caitlin Clark] for getting y’all [expletive] private charters.”

Duncan saw those comments and went at Barkley for what he said.

“This is only women that get this (expletive). I’m tired of it,” Duncan said. “Here’s my thing you guys: Who are these girls? Who are these girls that are hating on Caitlin Clark? Are you just combing through Twitter? What else are these women supposed to do?”

Duncan does make a point because at the end of the day, everyone is a competitor. Players aren’t going to just bow to Clark because she was the top overall pick. They’re going to go right at her on the court and make her beat them.

She’s being defended differently in the pros compared to college and it’s going to stay that way for the rest of her career.

In five games, Clark is averaging 17.8 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game. She’ll try and lead the Fever to their first win of the year on Friday night against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Tipoff will be at 10 p.m. ET.
