Tom Brady’s ex-teammate Scotty Miller snubs NFL icon from top position in all-time QB list

For Tom Brady fans, the name Scotty Miller might ring an unexpected bell. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver was never a household name in the league, but he was able to contribute with many important plays during the Buccaneers Super Bowl run that gave Brady his 7th ring.

Miller never returned to his impressive 2020 level, bouncing around and playing with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 but never establishing himself. Currently signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the wide receiver appeared on Chris Long’s podcast Green Light and spoke about his favorite quarterback to ever play with.

And surprisingly enough, Tom Brady, with whom he won the Super Bowl, wasn’t his pick.

Miller and Brady played together for two more seasons, but the wide receiver was unable to replicate the same performances he showed in the 2020 season. The quarterback, on the other hand, finally started to individually decline in 2022 before calling it a career.

That year, the Buccaneers had a fantastic group of weapons to help Brady on his quest to a seventh ring: Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and a great offensive line were among the offense orchestrated by Bruce Arians.

Scotty Miller wasn’t supposed to have such an important role there, but he kept growing into the job and finished the regular season with some impressive 501 yards, which were amazing when you look at how deep that offense was: a sixth-round pick out of nowhere becomes an important player?

The most important play he ever made, of course, was the deep touchdown against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game that helped create the upset. Tom Brady threw him a perfect pass.
