If there’s one thing Angel Reese is great at, it’s getting under her opponent’s skin.
She displayed this skill on Sunday.
LSU, a No. 3 seed, was trailing No. 11 seed Middle Tennessee State for most of their second round game. But the Tigers – and Reese – came alive in the second half, taking a 10-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Reese had a big moment late in the third quarter, when she drew a foul on Middle Tennessee State’s Anastasia Boldyreva, fouling her out of the game.
The LSU Tigers star was seen taunting Boldyreva as she made her way off the floor. Reese waved to Boldyreva and the Middle Tennessee State bench following the fifth foul call.
Boldyreva was overcome with emotion, trying to fight back tears on the bench.
LSU had its way with Middle Tennessee State for the rest of the game. The Tigers ended up topping their second round opponent, 83-56, in blowout fashion.
Kim Mulkey’s team had quite the second half, overcoming a four-point deficit at halftime to go on to win by nearly 30 points.
The Tigers advance to the Sweet 16, with Iowa potentially a game away in the Elite Eight.
