Caitlin Clark’s adorable pre-game ritual with ex-teammate and fellow WNBA rookie Kate Martin revealed-lh

Kate Martin has revealed that she is still close with fellow WNBA player Caitlin Clark, as the former Iowa star duo keep tabs on each other through a particular pre-game routine in the league.

Speaking to reporters ahead of her second regular-season game against her now-former college teammate, Clark admitted that she and Martin had to up their game when it comes to an off-court tradition – gameday tunnel outfits.

Several players, including some of Martin and Clark’s teammates like Kelsey Plum and Lexie Hall, have caught the eye with their pre-game ensembles this season, as they help the league with continuing its skyrocketing popularity.

‘We always send each other photos like, ”Wait, do you like this outfit?” Martin said of her interactions with Clark nowadays.

‘That’s a fun little piece about the WNBA. We were both nervous (at the beginning of the season) like, ”What are we going to wear? We always just wear sweatpants!’

In May, Clark said of her style evolution: ‘I think it’s been fun. Honestly like I try to switch up… Kind of what I’m wearing and what I’m doing whether it’s a little more casual or a little more fancy.

‘I think you’ll see it kind of switch up over the course of the season.’

Echoing Martin’s perspective of the importance of fashion to them, the Indiana Fever point guard added that dressing up for WNBA games is a ‘little different’ from college matchups due the spotlight being on the players from the moment they set foot in arenas.

‘Usually, I just show up in my sweatpants and my slides, so…’ Clark said.

‘But it’s been fun and hopefully it keeps getting better,’ she continued, referring to her outfits over the course of her rookie season in the WNBA.

On the court, however, it’s a different kind of focus as Clark and her teammates will try to finish above .500 on their five-game road trip when the Fever face the host Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday night.

Indiana (8-12) had won four straight games before falling to the Chicago Sky on June 23 and the Seattle Storm on Thursday. However, the Fever improved to 2-2 on their trip with an 88-82 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday, nearly getting a triple-double from its star.

Clark finished with 15 points despite shooting only 2-for-10 from 3-point range.

She also had nine rebounds and 12 assists and was one of five Indiana players to score in double figures, a group that also included NaLyssa Smith (12 points, 15 boards).
