Aaron Rodgers manages to stay in the news, whether he’s playing or not.

The New York Jets quarterback is likely out for the season after rupturing his Achilles during his first drive as a player for his new team, though it’s understood that he’s hoping to return before the campaign comes to a close.

While speaking on the Pat McAfee Show this week, the veteran QB referred to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as “Mr. Pfizer” in what was a dig at Kelce’s appearance in a Pfizer vaccine commercial.

Former surgeon general Jerome Adams caught wind of the jibe and has aimed some criticism at A-Rod.

“If you’re out for the season after making a number of well publicized and questionable choices about your own health, seems prudent not to criticize another player who is faring quite well with his health choices (including being vaccinated), no?” he wrote on X.

Kelce responded to Rodgers while speaking to reporters on Friday and didn’t seem at all bothered by the QB’s new name for him.

“I mean, with the stache right now, I look like a guy named Mr. Pfizer. Who knew I’d get into the vax wars with Aaron Rodgers, man? Mr. Pfizer vs. the Johnson and Johnson family over there,” he said laughing.

It doesn’t appear that there’s any beef between the players, who were seen having a friendly interaction after the Jets lost to the Chiefs on Sunday. Maybe everyone else should stay out of it?
