Jennifer Lopez says Ayo Edebiri ‘apologized with tears in her eyes’ for podcast digs: She was ‘mortified’

Jennifer Lopez has addressed Ayo Edebiri’s negative comments about her career following their joint “Saturday Night Live” appearance.

Speaking to Variety, she revealed a “mortified” but “very sweet” Edebiri profusely apologized to her before they went live on the show in early February.

“She came to my dressing room and apologized with tears in her eyes, saying how terrible it was that she had said those things,” Lopez, 54, recalled in an interview published Tuesday.

“She felt really badly and loved my performance because we had just done my soundcheck and she actually got to hear me perform.”

“She was just like, ‘I’m so f–king sorry, it was so awful of me.’”

The two-time Grammy nominee added that she wasn’t phased by Edebiri’s rude comments because she has “heard similar things” throughout her “entire career.”

In 2020, the “Bear” star, now 28, appeared on the “Scam Goddess” podcast and claimed Lopez’s fame was “one long scam.”

“She thinks she’s on multiple tracks, but it’s not her,” Edebiri claimed. “I think she thinks that she’s still good even though she’s not singing for most of these songs.”

She went on to say she studied Lopez’s career and found evidence that proved she didn’t sing all of her tracks.

“A lot of the write-ups of the songs will be like, ‘J. Lo didn’t have time to make it to the studio.’ like, ‘J. Lo was busy,’” she recalled.

“It’s like, ‘Doing what?’ Not singing, obviously!”
